Ambassadorships

In the Yoga world often an Ambassador Program is for individuals who are passionate about a particular brand of yoga gear, clothing, paddleboard, and so on. Companies create programs for individuals to promote their product via word-of-mouth, posting on social media, and other promotional streams. Companies look for individuals who embrace, and engage their products on a regular basis. The exchange for getting the world out can be anything from receiving discounts on their product, complimentary gear, being highlighted on their company web page and a variety of other opportunities.

General Tips

1.) Familiarize yourself with the company, read the whole website. Especially if it is a new product in your life. It is strongly recommended to like the actual product, otherwise how will you feel driven to promote it regularly? Also will you have the chance to show, wear, use the item so folks will see it?

2.) Inquire if there is a contract and read over all the details for signing.  Find out all the requirements for being an ambassador. For example, how many posts on social media? What events are you required to attend? Be sure you can actually do them. Follow through is key to a long relationship with the company.

3.) Once you have been accepted get all social media down pat (site names, associated hashtags). It is also good to have a contact e-mail and phone number for other inquires to the company.  Integrity of your name, brand, and other associations will always remain.

4.) Getting to know fellow ambassadors can be helpful in creating ways to promote the product.

5.) Whenever you can, volunteer to do events and other tasks for the company.
